RUSSIA: Mosfilm launched its YouTube channel

Russian Cinema Concern Mosfilm opened its own channel on the Google-owned video sharing YouTube. At http://www.youtube.com/mosfilm about 50 films from 1930's to early 2000's, can be seen until and among them "Jolly Fellows" ("Veselye Rebyata"), " "Irony of Fate " ("Ironiya Sudby"), "Andrei Rublev", "The Mirror" ("Zerkalo") and others.

About a year ago Mosfilm had already launched a network of online cinema at www.cinema.mosfilm.ru where registered users could watch a movie at one of two "virtual cinemas." Some of Concern movies were broadcasted for free but the visitors did not have the possibility to choose films and had to follow the website announcements.

Now they can do it on the Mosfilm's YouTube channel where around two hundred popular films will be lined up in high definition before the end of the year as reported by the Russian office of Google and the Concern.

UZBEKISTAN: "Sport-tour" on TV and Radio Channel «Sport»

A new TV program "Sport-tour" will be launched on TV and Radio Channel «Sport». The audience will be introduced to historical monuments of the ancient cities of Uzbekistan, as well as resorts, where you can spend your time usefully to health through a variety of sport activities.

The program mostly oriented towards recognition of the variety of sport activities in Uzbekistan. In addition, the audience will be introduced to the history of the ancient cities in Uzbekistan such as Samarkand, Khiva, and Bukhara, and their modern development.  It has been planned to combine the stories of country's ancient culture and its modern development, particularly the development of tourism in Uzbekistan. The program will be aired twice a month on TV and Radio Channel «Sport».

BALKANS: Viasat Nature HD is testing in Croatian, Slovenian and Serbian language

Media group MTG (Modern Times Group) has started to test its new high-definition channels in HD Viasat Nature which broadcasts quality and award-winning documentaries and series dedicated to the world of nature, wildlife and wilderness.  The channel also tested on a dozen other Central and Eastern European languages.

UKRAINE: Two new documentaries narrate the history of the Ukrainian capital

April, 22 "First National" channel presented a new documentary series of its own production "Lost City." Each episode of the new documentary will tell the story of one of the ancient houses in the Ukrainian capital as reported by "MediaBusiness."

A similar program "Old Kiev" dedicated to the history of capital's streets was launched  on the "City" TV channel on April 9th.

CZECH REPUBLIC: Advertising market is getting recovered from the economic crisis

Advertising via TV channels and Internet have become the most important for the marketers in the Czech Republic - confirms the company Admosphere.

Speaking about television sector,  the companies spent 0.41 billion CZK more in advertising via TV Channels in the first quarter of  this year  than in 2010 for the same period. In the same time the rates for the advertising space of most of the TV channels decreased or maintained at the same level. Only Barrandov TV, CT4, CT24 and PRIMA TV reviewed their price list for increases (46%, 33%, 15% and 11% respectively).

SERBIA: Total TV expands its offer

On Monday, 18 April 2011 Serb satellite platform Total TV expanded its offer with Ginx, a  TV channel devoted to gaming.

RUSSIA: O2TV increased its coverage by 62.7% compared to the same period in 2010

In the first quarter of 2011 channel "O2TV increased its coverage by 62.7% compared to the same period in 2010 and its subscribers database grew up to 4.393 million.  According to the results on March 31, 2011, channel "O2TV" can be viewed in 73 Russian regions in 247 cities across Russia, including Moscow and all cities with populations over 1 million people. 

Only in Moscow its number of subscribers grew by 22% from January to March 2011 and counts 554.34 thousand subscribers.

CROATIA : New video portal in Croatia

EPH, in collaboration with its partners, is launching a new multimedia web portal called WPN in Croatia. This service allows for viewing TV channels, videoclips and localy produced content provided by TV channels and TV producer such as KlasikTV, MTV, CMC, JutarnjiTV, Transmeet TV, Xstream, DSLR channel and Fashion.hr.  Initially, the service is supposed to be free of charge, pay-tv services will be developed later.

WPN.tv is the first Croatian Web-TV platform and expected to be launched in early April.

POLAND: Pimp My Ride by Coca-Cola Zero" arrives in Poland

MTV Networks Poland, and Coca-Cola Poland Services are collaborating on the project "Pimp My Ride by Coca-Cola Zero" - the first Polish edition of the international MTV hit, made for entertainment and 'motoring enthusiasts'. "Pimp My Ride by Coca-Cola Zero" is the first of planned projects for this year of a new integrated strategy for the 360 degree commercial division MTV Networks Poland, managed by Maciej Kutak - Vice President, MTV Networks Poland Commercial.

"Pimp My Ride by Coca-Cola Zero" will be promoted in three stages - applications, production and emissions - on all platforms, including television stations and websites, with the use of mobile applications and communities.  The program will air on MTV Poland in Fall 2011.

SLOVAKIA: Another Turkish drama started yesterday on DOMA TV

Due to their success Another Slovak TV channel MARKIZA TV is planning to include some Turkish dramas in its program grid.

RUSSIA: LoveStory begins ...

'LoveStory' -  a new 24H/24 entertainment TV channel primarily oriented at a female audience (18+) was launched today. The broadcast grid of the channel is composed of big-budget melodramas, romantic comedies, dramas from American major studios, as well as films of European and domestic production.

The channel is broadcasting from the EutelsatW7, 36 ˚ E. in MPEG4.
